Illinois Ranking Rises to #3 In Corporate Expansion and Relocation

Exciting news this morning shared by our state business development partner, Intersect Illinois and published by Site Selection Magazine! Illinois’ ranking improved from #4 in 2020 to #3 in 2021 for corporate expansion and relocation projects.
Two Will County projects alone – Lion Electric in Joliet and Scott’s Miracle Grow in Channahon accounted for $155 million in investment and 1,750 of the 21,000 new jobs for all Illinois projects identified. Additionally, Wayfair’s $125 million investment in Romeoville will bring 300 jobs.

Greater Chicagoland Region Named Top Metropolitan Area for Corporate Site Selection and Relocation
The Greater Chicagoland Region was named top metropolitan area for corporate site selection and relocation for the 10th consecutive year. County Executive Bertino-Tarrant celebrated the announcement with World Business Chicago at an awards ceremony recognizing companies who have grown or relocated in the Chicagoland Region.
