Meet Our Staff
Doug Pryor
President & CEO
Doug Pryor is the President and CEO of the Will County Center for Economic Development. In this role, he is focused on designing and implementing strategies to strengthen Will County’s position as a premier business destination for large-scale, regionally impactful investments, while also enhancing the County’s capabilities in innovation and new business development.
In his time leading the CED’s business recruitment and retention programs, Doug has helped deliver projects totaling more than $4 billion in investment in a wide range of industries including energy generation, corporate headquarters, electric vehicle manufacturing, transportation and logistics, food production, and retail.
Doug is also an Instructor of Economics and Statistics at Dominican University and currently serves on the State of Illinois Enterprise Zone Board. Prior to joining the CED, he was the County Administrator for Grundy County and Vice President of the Grundy Economic Development Council. Doug is a native of Joliet, a graduate of the University of Illinois-Springfield with a bachelor’s degree in economics and holds an MBA from Dominican University.


Peter Kelly
Vice President of Economic Development
Pete Kelly joined the CED in November 2022 and manages and CED’s economic development program working with prospective and expanding businesses, consultants, brokers and developers assisting them with site selection, customized research, and coordination with federal, state, and local government contacts. Pete graduated from the University of New Mexico. Most recently Pete was the Economic Development Manager at the City of West Chicago.

Kayla Sorensen
Director of Investor Relations
Kayla joined the CED in 2022 and is responsible for leading the CED’s investor relations program by communicating the CED’s mission and developing strategies to foster relationships with the CED’s 60+ Board of Directors as well as with current and prospective investors. As a leader on the CED staff, she helps to encourage investor engagement, grow board and committee participation, and cultivate relationships among investors. Kayla brings with her nearly a decade of state government experience. Prior to joining the CED, Kayla served under Governor JB Pritzker’s administration as the Director of Legislative and Governmental Affairs for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum as well as numerous years with the Illinois State Legislature. Kayla is a Joliet native and a Joliet Junior College alumnus. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and Political Science from Northern Illinois University and her master’s in public administration degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield

Kristin Erickson
Economic Development Project Manager
Kristin provides research and support to the VP of Economic Development regarding site selection and business expansion projects. Her additional responsibilities include administrative functions for the Economic Development Council, Annual Business Retention Program, CED events, trainings and meetings. Kristin also manages the CED website, social media channels and coordinates promotional and marketing materials.

Michele Kubitz
Accounting Manager
Michele maintains the day-to-day accounting activities for the Will County Center for Economic Development, Will County Economic Development Foundation and Joliet City Center Partnership. Her responsibilities include preparation of financial statements, accounts payable, and payroll.

Holly Scordo
Administrative Assistant
Holly provides administrative assistance to the President and CEO, Investor Development and Economic Development Divisions of the CED. This includes supporting the President & CEO’s responsibilities including the scheduling and preparation for meetings and events, supporting the CED’s membership investor development and retention efforts, and maintaining necessary information files.
